Administration

Jill Keith

Principal

Our Principal, Jill Keith, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, two Master’s Degrees, one in Early Childhood Special Education and one in Educational Leadership, and an Advanced Study Certification in Gifted Education. She served in the Clark County School District as a Kindergarten, Second Grade, and Eighth Grade Teacher, a teacher in the Gifted and Talented Education classroom with Third, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Students, as the Assistant Principal for four years at Gibson and most recently as the Principal of Gibson Elementary.

During her time as a general education teacher, Mrs. Keith was a Grade Level Chair and inclusion teacher. As a Facilitator in Gifted Programs Education Services, she collaborated with and mentored teachers and trained parents of gifted students, while still working closely educating students.

Mrs. Keith also served in a supplemental position in the Employee Onboarding Department on the Teacher Leader Team.  In this capacity, she collaborated with teachers on advancing cognitive demand, and creating and delivering curriculum which offers students metacognitive opportunities for increasing understanding and taking responsibility for learning.

Her goals are to promote quality instructional practices, to analyze data to increase student growth, achievement, and proficiency, to ensure a safe and respectful learning environment through character education, to engage parents and families as advocates for education, and to ensure high-quality customer service with stakeholders.

Mrs. Keith enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge while inspiring her fellow educators as they strive to positively impact the lives of our students, families, and our surrounding community.

Blair Rodrigues

Assistant Principal

Our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Blair Rodrigues is excited to continue her journey at Gibson.  She started her teaching career in Pennsylvania where she supported special education kindergarten through second grade students in a classroom setting.

This is Mrs. Rodrigues' fifteenth year working for the Clark County School District and has taught first and fourth grades, worked as a kindergarten through fifth grade literacy coach, and has also taught and mentored new teachers who are working through the Alternative Route to Licensure Academy. Her favorite place to be is the classroom with students. She has set a goal to quickly  meet, support, and learn from all the students that make Gibson special.

Although she enjoys everything about elementary education, a deep passion of Mrs. Rodrigues is literacy. Watching primary students discover a love of reading is amazing. The conversations you can have with intermediate students as they discover the world through reading and writing is intriguing. She appreciates the fresh perspective she gains through those discussions.

Mrs. Rodrigues looks forward to partnering with staff members, students, families, and the community to continue moving student proficiency forward. It is important to her that she not only have a relationship with the staff and students at Gibson, but also the families that are the driving force of student success. Please make sure to say hello and let her know what ways she can support you and your student(s)
