Lake Mead Junior Ranger Day

BECOME A JUNIOR RANGER AT LAKE MEAD

Families are invited to learn what it takes to be a park ranger and become an official Junior Ranger at Lake Mead National Recreation Area’s annual Junior Ranger Day. The event will be held at the Historic Railroad Trail from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24.

All ages can participate in activities to learn about park ranger careers the Bark Ranger program, how volunteers can help the park, view the sun through a solar telescope and so much more. After participants visit the different activity tables, they will take the pledge to become official Junior Rangers and be presented with a Lake Mead Junior Ranger badge.

For the safety of all participants, activity stations will be spaced along the trail from the Historic Railroad Trail trailhead to the first tunnel, a distance of roughly 1.5 miles. Participants will be encouraged to observe social distancing when on the trail and wear masks when distancing is not possible with other visitors and park staff.
