Intermediate Autism

My name is Kehaulani Richardson. I am a proud graduate of Argosy University having earned my Bachelor's degree in Business Management, my Master’s degree in Management, and a Master’s degree in Special Education: Autism. This is my 6th year teaching in a classroom but my 16th year working with children on the Autism spectrum. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and going to the gym. I believe that all children are able and are motivated to learn. My main goal is to help your child access curriculum and skills to become an independent and lifelong learner. To reach this goal, I will look at each child as an individual learner, planning very carefully so that your child can feel challenged without unnecessary frustration. Another goal I have is to teach children that their best efforts are essential to completing a task. I want your child to develop and maintain an “I can and will try” attitude. I feel this attitude enables life-long success. You can feel confident that your child will be safe and surrounded by a loving and nurturing environment. I look forward to a successful school year.

Intermediate Autism

Hello everyone! This will be my 9th year in the exciting field of education, where I've had the pleasure of working with students of all ages and abilities! Growing up on the east coast, I spent my earlier years (many off days during elementary- high school) at the Brooklyn Public Library, where my mom was a children's librarian. I loved assisting with all the programs there, including the story time and art classes, RIF program, and summer reading programs, which were always a blast!! I attended St. John's University in Queens, New York with a science background, but gradually made my way back to work with children in education, where I've taught in Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, and now here in Nevada, where I am thrilled to help the most amazing kids reach their goals. I believe that learning should be both engaging and enjoyable, and I am dedicated to creating a unique and supportive learning environment where my students can truly thrive. I'm looking forward to an amazing year of learning!! In my spare time I enjoy exploring the world, volunteering with rescued animals/ related causes, and reading just about anything and everything.

Resource

Hello! My name is Alexandra Harrison and this is my 6th year teaching Primary Resource at Gibson! I graduated with a Bachelors from Humboldt State University in CA with a degree in Wildlife Management. Although I do love nature and the outdoors, I kept coming back to the classroom. I spent about 5 years in various substitute teaching positions and served in a leadership role for the Children's Defense Fund Freedom School program for 4 years before moving to Las Vegas and becoming part of the Gibson Family. I completed the ARL program, received my Nevada teaching license, and have been teaching Resource ever since. I love to come to work each day and see the smiling faces of the students and experience each of their unique personalities. I believe all children can learn and have gifts to share with the world. I am committed to creating a classroom environment in which students feel safe, loved, are kind to others and are inspired to try their best. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, being a toddler mom, traveling the world, cooking, being outside and creating art.

Resource

Hello! My name is Marlaina Mueller. I am the Intermediate Resource Teacher here at James Gibson ES. I have been a special education teacher since 2009. I currently hold a teaching license for Elementary Education and Special Education in the states of Pennsylvania, Virginia, and now, Nevada. I grew up in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, where I obtained my Undergraduate Degree in Elementary/Special Education. I graduated from Slippery Rock University, then immediately moved to Virginia and taught in a title one middle school for 13 years. While teaching in VA, I went back to school, and received my Master’s Degree in Education through my alma mater, SRU. Many years later, my sister had my niece. I couldn’t be the best aunt across the country, so I moved out to Vegas in 2022, and the rest is history. I absolutely love working at Gibson. I enjoy my job and working with the kiddo’s. I try to push each student to do their very best and to always make good decisions. When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy baking, walking, going to the beach, reading, and watching movies/TV shows.
